Bottle stopper for my friend.

My friend's parents gave me a piece of wood from his grandfathers wood shop since he is no longer able to work with wood. I decided to cut it up and make some bottle stopeprs and pens from the beautiful walnut stock. I cut a 2 1/2" long section, drilled and tapped it, then mounted it on my lathe.

I then used my rough gouge and turned a cylinder.

Next I shaped the stopper in to a design of my own creation. I like to have a nice place to get a firm grip on the stopper, to make it easier to use.
After some sanding and an application of friction polish the stopper is complete and ready to be mounted on the hardware.
